My Iomega Zip Drive 250Mb USB works fine, so I guess USB is ok. :-)

Could someone point me to a beginners guide on how to do video
capture, that is, save the video stream from LINX to am AVI or MPEG
file?

The device (LINX) is working fine under Windows. But I want to
use it on Linux!
