Hi,
I have a WinTV PVR card with bttv in use.
I'm not sure, use bttv the encoder chip?
There are tools using the encoder chip during capture TV in Linux?

Progress is slow. Check pvr.sf.net.

Progress is dead. There is no on-going development.

I posted a note some time ago on their forum
about how to use the KFIR initialization code
there with new bttv drivers and the Hauppauge.
VLS at www.videolan.org uses the LinuxTV KFIR-based
card, but I couldn't get it working with Hauppauge
at the time, but someone else might have better
luck. (I think someone posted to the VLS list
about some success with the Hauppauge, but I wasn't
able to duplicate it).
