I am trying DIVX4rec again. It seems to make a decent file playable
with mplayer but when I try to play the same file on Windows Media
Player (7.1 I think) the picture is blue. Not solid blue -- the
picture is discernable but is washed over with a blue tint rather than
the normal colors.

I recorded with

DIVX4rec -dq 1 -F 26733 -w 320 -h 240 -db 1800 -r 22050 -s stereo -o "/video/test.avi"

Any ideas?

Wow - its amazing how many totally obscure bugs come crawling out of the woodwork... I am not sure what is wrong here. More than likely on the Windoze side though: 1) Old version of DivX4 codec (there were a number of betas, not all compatible), or 2) Soemone played with the DivX4 colour controls (I think an app is installed which lets you trim them).
