I spent some time last night packing my patched source tree up, writing
documentation, cleaning up the code (not too much), and uploading it to:

http://www.geocities.com/ori_pessach_blah/mp1e-1.8.1-syncpatch.tgz

Please read README.sync. This worked for me, but is pretty ugly. Unfortunately, I
never had time to clean it up, fix the bugs, etc.
