I think there might be one more think that we should declare on-topic for the list ... set top box hardware/software to do these things. There are some linux running set top boxes availible that run linux, and have hardware mp2 compress/decompress and tuners and dvd drives ... specificly something from GTC/Allwell I know of. I'd like to know if anyone's using those/having luck with them.
