I've been using something called 'streamer' which exists in the
xawtv package.  seems like a prtty dodgy tool, though.  As I
understand it, there is a special tool for use with ATI's
combined video-card/capture card tools, it may be that:

	1)	If you're using it, it bypasses the normal v4l interface,
		and doesn't use the /dev/video0 interface
	2)	if you're not using it, you should be.

This software does not apply, as I understand it, to my card, so
I'm afraid I can be of little help.
