no AGP cards working with bttv

Hello folks,

I've got a Soyo K7ADA motherboard (ALi Magik chipset). I can't get any AGP
video card to work properly with my WinTV Go card. Things work fine in my
i440bx motherboard, and things work fine with thei motherboard + PCI
video. I wonder if it isn't a broken implementation of AGP (Ali M1647
chipset), but maybe someone could suggest a work-around?

What happens is the overlay will display for a while, sometimes up to a
half hour, if I don't hit too many buttons. Then it completely hard locks
my system. Sometimes bttv gives risc_err messages in /var/log/messages,
sometimes it causes X to oops on a NULL deref. And with some kernel
configuration I can't quite remember, I got bttv to cause my hard drive to
lose interrupts (or dma_timeout if I had dma turned on).

This has been happening with bttv 0.7.x and 0.8.x both, and v4l1 and v4l2
both. Right now I've got the 2.4.13 kernel.

Is this really the place to ask this question? Or should I find the person
in charge of my motherboard's agpgart support module?

Thanks for any help,
Mike
