Help unconfuse me re WinTV PCI FM cards

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I've a PAL WinTV PCI FM card.

I'm confused regarding the radio part of the card. Perhaps someone with
more experience can give me a pointer.

My question is: where does the FM radio signal get demodulated down to
baseband audio?

  In the tuner itself, or,

  In the MSP3415D chip, or,

  In some other chip?

Or, perhaps - several of these at the same time.

I'm confused because I notice that when I'm in radio mode there is lots of
logging from msp3400.o about the FM intermediate frequency of 10.7MHz, but
also that msp3400 appears to switch to the "SCART_IN1" inputs to collect
the radio audio.

Thanks,
Steve
