probs w voodoo tv fm card: no tuner response

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

(resend with correct from address)

I have just gotten a used voodo tv fm card and I am having trouble
getting the tuner to respond. The cover/heatsink over the tuner chip is
very hot, making me suspect this card might be broken(?).

When I start a windows pctv app called Sattelite (just to check if the
bt878 video input is working ok) I get a lot of entries in the log that
indicates activity on the i2c bus.

19:03:47.020:00000430 - gpioremote-thread: key=0ff000

(Not shure if it's important but my hauppauge wintv pci fm doesn't give
such logentries.)

etc...

lastly, my /etc/modules.conf is like this;

# i2c
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
options i2c-core i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1

# bttv
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv card=68 tuner=33 pll=28
options tuner debug=1 type=33
options msp3400 simple=0

Any clues of where I can look to see if this is just a configuration
problem or if the card is indeed broken?

Actually, with the latest patch, I now get sound, and I can hear that the card kindof mutes when I change channel in xawtv. It's like if the antenna input is broken or something. (Yes the cable is ok... :)
