Using a logitech quickcam and a bttv card

I have recently installed a logitech webcam which works well and when i
first installed it i could get the picture by running xawtv -c
/dev/video1. After rebooting the machine the quickcam is now /dev/video0
and the bttv card which was /dev/video0 no longer works.

how do i choose which device will be /dev/video0 and 1 ?
