doh, I can't believe I missed that after reading that file so many

Found it.  I'm running with 6 bttv currently.  I'll report any problems.

What about using fieldnr and capturing only even/odd frames?  What else
can I use fieldnr for?
Will it be put back into bttv 0.8 .x series?

What's this 50/60fps capture a keep reading about?
