Re: ATI all in wonder pro 32MB AGP Rage 128...

ATI provided some of the specs but isn't "fully" cooperative so some reverse engineering is needed for specific aspects (such as the "TV Out" support)..

Vladimir Dergachev is best suited to answer general questions about the project <volodya@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> and the person working on the capture code is our lovable "R C" <zarquon@xxxxxxxxxxxx> .. I believe he has started writing kernel code but his actual job has gotten the best of him lately.

If you want to look into it, it would be a good idea for you to join the LiViD mailing lists (that currently host the GATOS/ati_xv projects).. You'll find them on the www.linuxvideo.org website.

How can I help? Is the spec published or are we having to reverse engineer
it?

John

ATI All-In-Wonder cards aren't supported by V4L.. To get the tuner working
and graphics acceleration, you need to install the latest ATI XVideo
drivers
and dri modules which you'll find at http://www.linuxvideo.org/gatos/ .

The capture is being worked on but is not completed yet, however, you might be able to get capture to work using the old unsupported GATOS project with
xatixv but your milleage will vary. The current ati_xv project does not
have
video capture capability, only the ability to use the TV tuner.
