I am a very new to Linux, I do not want a fish I want to know fishing,
Then where can I find information about "X driver" (as far I can see my GUI: Gnome/KDE is ok), how can it be broken and how to solve it, also, information (manual) of Xawtv.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and this that you are using
devfs. xawtv uses /dev/video by default. You have to explicitly specify
it - 'xawtv -c /dev/video/0'.
