eMonitoringSolutions has an strategic alliance, I believe, with Zoran to be
the provider of compressed-mode V4L/Linux video drivers for the
Zoran/Nogatech 1003/1004 chipset (used in the WinTV USB product).  Their
uncompressed drivers (smaller frame size at lower frame rate, due to
bandwidth limitations over USB), I believe, are open-source.  Compressed
mode (for obvious trade-secret reasons, but approaching full frame size at
~30fps) are not, but were available for purchase in binary form, I believe.
(It must be noted that my knowledge is somewhat dated and may be
valueless...  Worth contacting them, anyway.)
