VP6 and HDTV Hauppauge

Howdy,

No matter how I configure  a kernel in my RH 7.1 (2.4.2-2smp on a dual PIII 1GHz X2 VP6), I can never get the
HDTV Hauppauge to be listed in a lspci listing. As if that had anything to do with it.
My video card is an Nvidia Ge-Force 256 with 64M of DDR.
Is that my problem? Linux likes my card. But Hauppauge has me interfacing the Nvidia card to the HDTV card. Which is probably the only way the HDTV card will work.
Could it be that the Hauppauge card is TOO new?
The framebuffer linux offers for the Nvidia is an experimental. For the Nvidia Riva.
Is that the problem?  Incompatible framebuffer device?

Thanks for reading.
