WinTV-Go, bttv-0.7.63, "bttv0: irq: SCERR risc_count=03826808" (fwd)

(Trying again, now that I think I have my list subscription straightened
out)

Has anyone got a setup anything like this working:

- Recent Hauppage "WinTV-Go model 190" board
(the '878 chip has a Conexant name/logo, if that matters)
- bttv-0.7.63 driver
- xawtv-3.43
- Redhat 6.2, XFree upgraded to 4.0.2.
- 2.2.19 kernel built from RedHat's upgrade for 6.2,
"kernel-2.2.19-6.2.1.src.rpm" (this kernel comes pre-patched with
(some version of) the "new" i2c driver)

After connecting an NTSC color camera to the composite input I get:

$ v4lctl snap jpeg 640x480 foo.jpg
v4l: oops: got sigalarm
ioctl: VIDIOCSYNC(0): Interrupted system call
ioctl: VIDIOCMCAPTURE(0,fmt=7,size=64x48): Device or resource busy
ioctl: VIDIOCMCAPTURE(0,fmt=13,size=64x48): Device or resource busy
grab: no match for: 640x480 24 bit TrueColor (BE: rgb)

and in /var/log/messages, "insmod ./bttv.o bttv_verbose=1" results in
these responses to v4lctl:

Apr 22 02:40:10 viola kernel: bttv0: resetting chip
Apr 22 02:40:10 viola kernel: bttv0: irq: SCERR risc_count=03826808
Apr 22 02:40:10 viola last message repeated 4 times
Apr 22 02:40:10 viola kernel: bttv0: aiee: error loops
Apr 22 02:46:35 viola kernel: bttv0: resetting chip
Apr 22 02:46:35 viola kernel: bttv0: irq: SCERR risc_count=03826808

Similar failures and messages result when using xawtv itself. I don't
really want to watch TV, just capture stills from an NTSC video camera
connected to the composite input.

Any hints?

Reading through bttv-driver.c, it's obvious that "irq: SCERR" is the chip
signaling an error of some kind.
Any idea where to find a Bt878 datasheet these days so I can
investigate further myself? (No joy at conexant's useless web site).
(If someone were to send me a datasheet, I'll be happy to add some
comments to bt848.h ...)

Thanks for any assistance...
Steve
