Thanks for the info :-)  I'm currently looking at the site. Unfortunately,
ftp.inodes.org isn't resolving using any number of nameservers (including
ns.inodes.org) so I can't get to the diff. I'll bookmark the site and try
back later...

I'm currently using a Brooktree based card.  I do believe they're
supported by v4l2 (and you show that the cards was successfully used with
sane-v4l2 on an alpha), but I've never gotten around to trying it.  Any
chance you could e-mail me your diff?
