[V4L] Avermedia Problems

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi! I have some problems with my card I just want to know if there's
a place you know about where I can get more help.
I got a Avermedia TVCapture98 Card. I've used the bttv driver and some
applications with it without a problem in XFree-3.3.6 but when I moved to
4.0
to get the DRI support for my card (ATI Rage 128) I got into trouble. I've
read the documentation, I've checked Deja newsgroups,
I've recompiled the kernel with the latest bttv patch.
The problem is: whenever I try to load any aplication that uses the bttv
modules (I passed the right options to them, I believe)
my computer just freezes (sic.) and I have to press the reset button.
This seems to be a problem with DRI. Could you tell if you've heard about
this before?
As a told you I've used bttv+xawtv with Xfree3.3.6 (I moved to 4.0 because I
got better support for my card).

My computer is a: PII, 128 MB RAM, ATI Rage 128 (8MB), Avermedia
TvCapture98, Creative Encore12x.
            I'm using kernel 2.4.0-test9
I'm currently running RedHat7.0 though I've experienced this with
Suse 6.4 and Redhat 6.2
I'm using the bttv kernel patch (0.7.46, I believe).
I'm from Spain and we use PAL.

	Alex.
