I have the same problem but after taking the metal cover of the tuner on the
TV card ( mine is a Flyvideo98) I found it had a chip which had TDA9800
stamped on it not TDA9840/50 etc so I think this is the problem a lot of
people with current card are having, when the kernel loads the i2c and bttv
modules they scan for them (TDA9840, TDA98xx etc) and report the different
model numbers scaned for but mine is never found which is TDA9800 thats why
I think I don't get stereo. BTW I have only been using Linux for 3 months
now and I could be wrong, bye bye win98............................!!!
