Hi,

Yes, for some reason I have the same problem with the G200 and XF4. The answer
is to either run xawtv in 16 bit mode (xawtv -bpp 16),
or to recompile xawtv with the XFree 4.0.1 headers to make use of
the Xv extension. 
Also remember to put
      Load    "v4l"
in XF86Config-4 in section Module.

With the Xv extension the image size can be scaled up and there's no screen
flashing etc., but the image looks very coarse at small sizes.
