[V4L] Followup: bttv grabbing problems

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello everyone,

I had some time today and tested all available 40 bttv cards with my
bt878 grabber card.

I did use card=37(PixelView PlayTV pro), but found card=21(Lucky Star
Image World ConferenceTV) and 24(Askey/Typhoon/Anubis Magic TView
CPH051/061 (bt878)) to do a better job.

As was proposed I measure the time it takes to grab one frame as
indication of a grabbing mistake. I.e. if it takes longer than 0.045
seconds to grab a frame, I define it as an error. (PAL has 25 frames per
second.)
My old card=37 did 15in10000 errors when I grab with SVHS and
1500in10000 with the Composite-IN. The card=21,24 both do 15in10000 for
SVHS and Composite-IN.

What is the driver side difference of these cards, and do I have to look
at driver code to find out, or can anyone on this list provide me with
an answer?

BTW. I do have a dual pentium-II 400 system, perhaps this could cause
problems?

Bye,

	Robert S.
